Amazon release date fail

WOW. That is all that comes to my tongue when I think about what happened to me today.

Dungeon Siege III was released today, I had pre-ordered it for Playstation 3 through Amazon.com. Amazon offers release date delivery on many games you pre-order, and this was no exception.

I am like the last stop for UPS, which really sucks, really sucks, did I mention really sucks. Who likes to wait for a package all day? Worse, who likes to wait all day for a package missing contents, or broken contents? Waiting all day is just the way it is, and over the years I have gotten over it. But, it really pisses me off when I receive broken items in my box at 5:30 pm Friday and cannot contact the company until Monday - the item was URGENTLY needed. Anyhow, that was a different problem and much worse than my issue today.

I received a box that could hold a whole playstation 3. Crushed on one corner, with nothing but air cells inside. Cool huh. Amazon has the best customer service I have ever dealt with is all I can say. I called them immediately, waited on the phone for maybe 2 minutes and they are shipping me another copy via one-day shipping.

  2. Oh yeah, I'd be livid. The only time I preordered a game through amazon was for Brink and they didn't offer same day delivery for me :(

  3. @Daniel: Yeah, I had the intent of being mean and rude, but the customer service rep was so nice about it. He laughed when I told him it was in a box way over sized.

  4. they could at least wrap the game in bubble wrap. Then you would have something to do (breaking bubbles) till your new box arrives. Sorry to hear mate, better luck next time.

  5. Man I would have been pissed! I've heard all too many stories of this. My friend pre-ordered hellgate london from best buy, and they didn't give him the pre-order dye kit.

I've never pre-ordered anything online (except digital downloads).

  7. Sorry to hear that ! I hate when that kind of thing happens - but you're right, some of the bigger online companies are great at customer support.

  9. Dude...
At least you will receive another one. All of you americans didn't know how it works in this "third-world". There is a case where a customer received "instant lamen" instead of a laptop. She still didn't receive a laptop.

  15. You have far more patience than I. That said, I've never had a problem with Amazon, and I order from them at least once every 2 weeks.
